A midnight exploration of sonic colour

This is where you’ll find me and my long time friend, musical collaborator and house mate Jeremy Kirk aka @primarycolour most nights, days, dusk’s and dawn’s.

Beneath the lamp light in our rainbow coloured studio, lost in a sea of sound.

While the world turns our creativity burns.

This is an improvised expression session exploring the magical depths of a synthesizer called omnisphere.

Enjoy.

  1. As a purveyor of words and a word-geek I’m the first to say that music is transcendent. I can literally say I’ve been “drunk” on music–I don’t really get drunk on poetry, novels, or creative non-fiction.

I imagine there is something magic that happens in that studio–when some ambiance or shared sound just sounds right.

Thanks for letting us in to this world, Mykel.

    Cheers,
    M

Pleasure is all mine mate. I completely agree. There is something else about music that takes us somewhere. I believe it’s because the universe is just one big vibration so music places us closer to the truth of who we really are. Reminds us of our true nature.

I love getting drunk on music too. And I’m just returning to that being my context for creating and discovering it again. For far too long I’ve been trying to make it into a product. Ugh…so cheap.

Now I’m back to why I play in the first place. Because is just feels good. No more no less. ;)

Really appreciate all your thoughts man.

    Hi!

I just wrote a page and it didn’t go through because I left my email add out. Here’s the shortened version;-)..

We are attracted to vibrations, sounds and energies that resonate with how we feel at a times in our lives .Music is SO amazing,as it can bring us back to a particular memory or place or time and it can also be a motivation for a long overdue change;either via lyrics or sound.

Re trying to make it a product versus why you played in the first place…the old saying that goes “do what you love and the money will follow”…I think if your intentions are in the right place and are honourable ,then the universe will provide magically for you in the most wonderous ways!

    I really believe this!

Thanks for sharing your creative energy and may it sprinkle light and inspiration far and wide!!!

Thanks for sharing Jeremy and Mykel and

I couldn’t agree more Linda. It’s a lesson I continue to learn over and over, day by day, year to year.
And I’m yet to meet a music lover quite like you! ;)
Thanks for continually providing me with your wonderful energy.

      Big love
